Close to Chicago
management, lifts, snow, terrain, price, crowded
Used to go here alot when I was young and poor mostly because it was close to home. No more. The last experience was the final straw. This place must be run by lawyers. The staff in on you about the wierdest issues that no other ski area fusses over. Snow conditions are always poor. Mostly icy. Runs are very short and crowded as hell, Lifts are slow and even on a busy weekend they dont run them all. Lifts break down all the time. got stuck for 30 mins on a chair the last time out. The resort would do nothing to make up for the inconvenience. Terrain pack is so so at best. jumps are rarely maintenanced. The parks are not netted off to keep the cruisers off. So you'll be full speed into hit and some kid will unknowing cut into your path. Very dangerous. The food is over priced and terrible. The staff is rude and intrusive. If you like to keep your old lift tickets on your jacket as a momento, don't go here you will get attacked without warning by a guy with wire cutters. Your option is they cut them off or you get kicked out with no refund . BTW, no warning about this when you buy your lift ticket. It may seem like a small issue but its an intrusion into your personal space. People spend money to ride so they can de-stress. Wilmot treats you like an employee. There are a lot of choices in the area. This place is a waste of money.
Ignore my recommended skill level and recommended for picks. The site requires you to check something. I don't recommend this place for anyone
