We skied Granite Peak Christmas Day, 2007. There had been significant snowfall 2 days before, and conditions were perfect the day we skied. The trails were nicely groomed for the most part, with only one trail feeling unexpectedly choppy. Skiing through several glades of trees was a nice change of pace for the more advanced skiers, while there was a very nice variety of green runs for beginners. The resort itself covers a lot of area, and with lifts spread along the way we never felt overly crowded, even later in the afternoon when larger numbers showed up after opening up their Christmas presents. The staff running the lifts were very friendly, taking time to chat as we we waited for our ride up. Although it's an extra two hour drive north into Wisconsin, we definitely plan to spend the extra time on the road to go back!
