A Large Ski Area
Too Many Black Diamond Runs for some Families

Full review

We were surprised at how large of a ski area Granite Peak is. The layout is set up for large numbers of skiers and was a bit crowded. The snow was in great condition. The kids liked the terrain parks. Many of our group are intermediate skiers. The large number of black diamond runs in ratio to the intermediate runs left us a bit disappointed. Coolers (brought in food) are only allowed in the lower level and the locker rooms were small. The high speed lift was impressive but not really friendly for beginners and some intermediate skiers. It did move a lot of skiers. The patio heaters were not on the day we were there. We are a bit spoiled by some other ski resorts that have great ski in and ski out lodging right on the hill. Tickets are a bit pricey with taxes but if you can ski/board the entire area, it is worth it.
