This was my 2nd mid-week trip to Devils Head this year. The first time we rode on a Wednesday and couldnt believe how few people were there. Not sure if it was a fluke, we went again on a Tuesday and could have counted the cars in the parking lot! We had the whole place to ourselves! This was great for trying new tricks in the park or hitting all the abstract jibs that are so very common on either side of the groomed runs (pointing this out because typically on a weekend, with the crowds, you would be bound to hit someone or get kicked out). We never waited in a lift line on either day. But the downside to it being a ghost town is that they only operate a couple lifts. And when a place is 100% open, that could mean that you might have to unstrap and hike it to hit runs on the far east-side. If you cant make the drive to Granite Peak, or find yourself debating between Cascade or Devils Head, make no mistake.... Devils Head is just about the only hill worth riding in the great cheese state.
