we have been lucky over the last 4 or 5 years with quality snow from december thru feb. making the skiing here in the midwest really enjoyable. We skied dh in mid december of 10 and we were greeted with about 5 inches of snow thru out the weekend. Also, we trekked up from chicago and skied this past jan and the conditons were epic. received about 10 inches of new snow. All the folks that work there are excellent people who are always in great spirits, from the lifties to the bartenders. If you are a beginner, there are plenty green crusier runs to assist in building up yr confidence. Nice intermediate runs coupled with a few expert runs as well. For lodging, dh has some decent on site places to stay. keep in mind that the place was built in the early 70's and the lodging can be a bit staid. remember, your there to ski, if you want your toe nails polished then book a trip to vail. for other lodging, try the comfort suites just off 94 and only about 7-8 miles from the resort...
