  Great Spot for Local Riding

  Pros: Close to Chicago & Milwaukee; Fast lifts. Fun runs, family, terrain park, on site lodging

  Cons: Short runs, Snow can be hit or miss (typical of the region)

  Best ski resort south of Madison, in the midwest

  Pros: Close to chicago, great terrain park, descent verical

  Fun place to go

  Pros: Lots of variety, tree lined runs, some fast lifts

  Cons: Some older, slower lifts

  I really like Alpine Valley. Of the places close to Chicago-land, this is my favorite. The have conveyor belts for the beginners (several of them in different areas), plus a good selection... Full review

  Pros: Steep, and Great Scenery

  Alpine Valley is worth visiting and skiing

  Pros: Great Slopes for skiing and snowboarding.

  Cons: Crowded during comfortable temperature around 30F

  I really believe this is a great place to learn skiing, practice skiing, and do a lot of tricks with snowboarding. Its got magic carpet for the beginners which is really great.... Full review
