I read to many reviews from people that don't know what they are talking about. I have worked at Winterplace for 4 years in ski-school. If you come on a weekend especially a 4day such as MLK or Presidents day expect 30-45 minute lift lines, and plenty of beginners. The lifts are slow and on purpose for crowd control, if we see someone skiing out of control we will mark or take there ticket, some things can slip by. Before complaining about unopened slopes you should understand snowmaking. Blown snow needs to sit for at least 2 days to harden before it can be groomed, and you can't groom if its above freezing. However not to say snowblowers aren't turned on when they need not be at all, and we have more than enough snow. Skiing conditions vary greatly, tonight we had 4 inches of powder on top of 6-8 inches last week making the skiing amazing, if you know where to go you can ski pure powder. Expert skiers won't find much terrain you should be skiing on to entertain you outside of Turkey, but you can find it. The food is expensive and our lodge is gross and the management cheap ass's. We know our market, lots of youth groups, lots of boyscouts.
