Easy to get to, fair lift ticket price
Poor layout and poor grooming
My family took yesterday off to try WINTERPLACE for the first time. It was an easy 3 hour drive even though the area received 6 inches of snow yesterday. My family and I ride snowboards, The worst part about this place is the layout. To get to the "top" of the mountain you walk out of the base lodge and strap in, ride 100 yds to lift #4, take it up, then walk 25 yds uphill, strap in, ride down the Snow Field, walk 200 yds across level ground to lift #3 and take it to the top. I spent more time strapping in and walking than I did riding. The slope "rendezvous" had narrow ruts in the trail that were caused by erosion, never filled in and then covered in snow. You didn't know they were there until you fell into them. Let me say I am not bashing Winterplace, I just want to give an honest review in hopes they may try to make improvements. Every staff person we encountered was nice and professional. Our trip was not a total disaster, but not easy on us snowboarders.
