Packed powder

Good conditions this weekend and most slopes are finally open. The upper lift is in big trouble. Down for a while Saturday and not loading all chairs to keep weight down Sunday. Results in longer lines. May be a rough holiday this week given continuing lift problems.

Skied great on Saturday - groomed packed powder with small amounts of hardpan. Couldn't hold against 50 deg temps Sunday and got very soft in afternoon.

I know the facilities and lift are dated. but they have the best tree skiing south of Vermont hands down. I love Timberline.

Overall snow condition was excellent you had groomed powder on top you would occasionally hit the ice underneath but that was the exception not the rule the other issue as with the facility itself it is dated it is out of date and badly needs improvement the crowds were so large we spent more time in line and on the chairs then we did on the slope family and I got only 5 runs in in a total of 4 hours after this experience I have come to conclude at Timberline is not worth the money that you pay if it gets too crowded consider other resorts in the area contain Valley being one right down the road and social you might have a better experience at these other resorts then Timberline just for sheer modernization factor up-to-date grand house up to date chairlift up to date people and facilities
