Timberline is commercialized when compared to its competitor Canaan Valley and a bit more expensive. Fortunately both resorts have teamed up together to allow you to buy a ski the valley pass that allows you to switch between resorts. They have a few decent runs, but their lifts are old, slow, and cold. My girlfriend kept commenting on how cold the seat was. There seems to be some padding, but they really were much colder than other resorts we have visited. They were making snow the entire time we were there and that is great, but they continuously close down terrain to do so which was disappointing since we were looking forward to certain runs. You will find a lot of housing alongside the resort so you don’t really feel like you can enjoy nature. Like most resorts it is busy on the weekend and the food isn’t great, but is expensive.
