horrible food, bad customer service, dirty lodge and bathrooms
Like most of these other reviews report, the terrain at Timberline seemed to be really good for the Mid-Atlantic. There are good trees and fun runs. However, the lifts are slow. They are probably the slowest lifts I have ever been on. It's obvious they don't cater to the terrain park crowds because it is the smallest terrain park I have seen at a resort anywhere in this day and age.
Also like most of these other reviews report, the customer service and facilities at Timberline are really bad. The lodge is dirty and the bathrooms are disgusting. They were actually leaving the doors to the bathrooms open when I was there because the smell was so bad. The lodge looks like it could fall down at any moment. The food in the cafeteria is disgusting. The service all around was bad, but the restaurant/bar was unbelievable. We could not get a beer and watched the bar tenders stand around the cash register talking to each other or smoke cigarettes on the deck while we waited. It seemed as though the staff in the lodge would prefer if they didn't have any customers...very rude and unkept.
If you are a die hard skier visit timberline to ski and bring your lunch and your own beer for the parking lot. Use the bathroom before you get there.
