Went to Snowshoe for the first time on Jan 3rd. I suppose it is the best in the mid-Atlantic region. Prob better than anything in Poconos. Their village has lots of stores and eateries to choose from. Fine for a quick weekend trip.
However, it does not compare to most Vermont resorts. Snow is mostly packed with patches of ice. I was surprised that there was barely any snowmaking. Also it was extremely crowded. Spent most of time dodging various people and waiting in lift lines. Finally prices were pretty high. Just as expensive as some of the Utah and Colorado resorts, eventhough it is like 1/8th of the size of anything out there.
