Full review

Have gone to snowshoe several times in the last couple of years and have been very satisfied with the experience. Although it isnt comparable to the resorts out west, it is by far the best ski experience you can get in the mid-atlantic. I always stay in Allegheny Springs in the village. They have nice rooms with full kitchens and are right in the middle of the central village so you can easily walk to the restaurants and shops. Having the pool and hot tub in the hotel is nice too. Although split rock pools has pools and hot tubs, it is not a place you want to hang out without kids. The lift lines are generally manageable, although they can get long on a holiday weekend. When the snowshoe lift lines are too long I take the shuttle to Silver Creek, which is generally less crowded and has wider trails that are easier to navigate in crowded conditions in any case. This year I am also going to try snowshoe in the summer. I have heard from friends that the golf course, hiking, and mountain biking are great there, and that there are no crowds. I am sure it is beautiful in the summer.
