Was a great "spring day" at snowshoe. Fresh powder runs in the morning and not terribly crowded made riding today very pleasurable. Too bad they closed silver creek Sunday? Makes no sense but whatever! Love this place!
Saturday was a little slushy otherwise great soft spring conditions, temps in the low 40's upper 30's and a little crowded.. Sunday was way less crowded but the snow was kind of packed. Woke up Monday morning with 10 inches of fresh snow!
Boarded Fri Sat and Sun. Great spring conditions, nice in the mornings little mushy and slow by 2pm or so. Saturday was very crowded on the slopes and good concert that night. Silver Creek area was nearly deserted, some ares over there were icy. It was snowing when I left at 3pm on Sunday.
Weather is great! Thursday was a bit cold and windy. Today (Friday) was really nice, probably could hit the slopes with a base layer and sweater. Slow was definitely slushy around noon - 3. Great for park, but kinda slow through the flat sections. Recommend a all temp or warm weather wax.
Rainy and Foggy out there today. Visibility was pretty terrible. The western territory was open, but shouldn't have been, most areas on it were brown with very little snow, almost all ice. We still managed to find some good runs, but unfortunately the snow is melting quickly. Forecast is calling for the huge amount of rain to turn to snow overnight, so let's hope it's a better day tomorrow
Gnarly weekend, snowshoe was crowed Saturday but not Sunday. Very slushy Saturday and semi icy Sunday. Overall we had an awesome time even though the conditions weren't perfect. Picture taken on bear claw at silver creek
Saturday was a great ski day, snow in good condition till about 1 pm when the slush showed up from a day's bake in warm sunshine. Till then it was nice soft powder with not much ice. Sunday was dicier. The snow was crusty, especially near the bottom and icier on top. Was cold and windy with a little fresh snow. There was no snow making at all which is normal when spring is knocking at the door. Better get it while you can.
