At CV the runs are fun, but short. Unfortunately, they get icy quickly since there is a lack of continuous snowmaking throughout the season and the snow gets pushed around so much. CV is owned by the state of WV and they have to focus on the bottom line. The weekends can be crowded so plan your trip for a weekday and the walk up the hill from the base to the lift is a major pain. Like most east coast resorts your best bet is to go after a storm during the week. The lodging and lift tickets are affordable, but there isn’t any nightlife and you will need to plan your meals since there are only a few restaurants in the valley.
