Great terrain especially if your wiling to hike
Not that much variety in bounds and out of bounds get skiied out qucik
Its a great resort to piggy back from. I spent all winter of 09 skiing it and got to know the back country pretty well. Lots of people doing it, and everyone is required to have the necessary gear. With a combo of lift access and hiking, you can have a great day of skiing there, but if you stay in bounds all day, you will run out of runs before mid day. Hiking limits your amount of runs, but hiking to the right areas you will be able to get fresh tracks or better terrain constantly all day long. Nightlife is limited to Grahams restaurant in Glacier, which can be fun and has lots of life music, but is just a local bar, not your vail night club. Bellingham is close enough if your looking for a city night life, but its still 45-60 mins away from the mountain, 30 from Glacier. That is the beauty of Baker though, you have such a great mountain in such an great community that is not developed (and wont) like all the million dollar communities the rest of the countries ski areas bring in. Its lots of fun for some, but for others it will not be there cup of tea.
