Groomers only, concrete off the corduroy. Was 43deg at 830 cooled off late in the day. Can't beat the sun and blue sky though.

Lots of snow and still dumping. But it's all going to change now with warm temperatures coming.

Snow storm all day was great for the mountain conditions. Gusty wind at the summit made for less than desirable visibility, but no more ice patches and scattered coverage. Finally snow!!! Glad we went out for a few hours today.

The only break in the clouds we had. Wet snow, low light, but made for good turns when you could see.

Baker delivered big today! Sucks if you missed it. Have fun riding the chopped up goods. Hopefully we can get more days like today. Nipple deep in some spots!

the 98 99 season started out this way but I'm sort of getting worried we need more Snow now . I hope they stay open longer this year. I want my season's pass to pay off. they closed last year with a 200 inch base but they are open with a 70 inch base now. Snow is going to start dumping at any time.

23rd was a good day. Had a big long post about it but the app closed out and I don't have nearly the patience to write it all out again. Super frustrating. Anyhow, long story short, out of the 4 days I've been up here this season, this was the best day. The first three times I had to fight the big chunks of tree rooted in the snow and uncovered rocks. None of that this time. I was discouraged when I first saw it in the morning, and apparently others didn't even give a chance as I saw several cars going down the mountain with gear around 9:05. They missed out. There was nothing useful posted up here to get an idea of how it is up there so I thought I'd share. Lots of powder in some areas ( most is too sticky and stops you in your tracks, others like top of 8/5 were nice and soft ) Good visibility, very few people, fresh snow was falling. Lots of runs still closed but if you love riding like I do, it's worth it, and it's not like there's anything better nearby. I had an awesome day.

The facts are pretty clear .........for millions and millions of years molecules that once formed branches and leaves and dead dinosaurs compressed into carbon They have been stored underneath the earths surface in the form of coal, oil and natural gas. Then in a handful of decades we oxidized those hydrocarbons...... And emitted them as carbon dioxide into the earth's atmosphere. Now we can measure the concentration of CO2 that used to be in the atmosphere and now is in the atmosphere by drilling into the polar ice caps. We can also just do the simple math by calculating how much natural gas coal and oil has been oxidized..... And basic understanding of stoichiometry and entropy make this an elementary conclusion for anybody with even a modicum of thermodynamic education..... Here's another fact for you..... CO2 traps heat in the air's atmosphere ..... Heat makes water evaporate..... Evaporated water is called a low-pressure zone...... Low-pressure zones create storms........ So our addiction to oil, natural gas and coal is going to cause it warmer wetter and stormier planet..... And I guarantee you that the of cost prevention is going to be a fraction of the cost of mitigating the aftermath of our diction

Awesome first day up! Blue skies and the snow up chair 6 and 1/2 was great. After today it will be tracked out until new snowfall, though.
