I've only been to Crystal Mt. once, unfortunately. Luckily when I went there was lots of good snow, which happens here more than many other places in WA. The snow is often supposed to be better than elsewhere, as it is more protected from the ravages of the Pacific Northwest weather patterns than places like Summit at Snoqualmie or Stevens Pass. This sometimes results in less snow, but they still get plenty, and it is usually better.

Crystal is huge, with lots of varied terrain. Lots of expert terrain, with chutes and trees and moguls and the like. Huge backcountry area. Nice open bowls, glades. Everything.

The lift system is well developed, such that although the place gets crowded, the lift lines aren't that bad. Crystal has a feel of a somewhat bigger, more developed resort than, say Mt. Baker, but it is nothing like the pretentious destination resorts of CO. it is still somewhat affordable ($60), although nothing like Mt. Baker. It is relatively family friendly, since they have tons of terrain to chose from.

There is no terrain park at all. There is on-site lodging and a little bit of nightlife, though again, nothing like CO destination resorts. The drive form seattle is pretty long, but not as bad as Mt. Baker.

Bottom line - Crystal Mt. is huge, has great terrain and snow, and is affordable. I highly recommend it. Though I still like Mt. Baker better. =P
