I live in Seattle and love the fact that I can drive for 45 minutes and find the little gem known as Alpental. This resort is composed of 75% advanced terrain - steeps, cliff drops, moguls, you name it. Not to mention, you can get a backcountry pass from ski patrol at the top of Chair Two, drop through the gates, and traverse right back into the resort when you get to the bottom. Awesome. Sometimes the lines can be long because the resort is small, but go during the week and you'll have the powder all to yourself.
