Today's skiing was okay, nothing to write home about. There were few people on the hill, especially in the morning. The runs were groomed pretty well, but going into the trees or glades was impossible due to the fact that the snow has not packed yet and isn't deep enough to cover stumps and downed material. Lots of rocks are showing and some runs were dangerous because of poor snow coverage. The resort was reporting 51 inches on top and 45 at the lodge, but this is greatly exaggerated. On the lost Duchman cat track we stuck our poles down and it was only about 2 feet at the top. At the lodge, the snow is far far from 45 inches. I've noticed other reviewers have said the same thing. This resort needs to be honest. It is very discouraging to bring a good powder ski only to wish you had your rock ski.
