This coming Feb, 2008, will be my 4th visit to Lech/Oberlech. Why go elsewhere? Great snow, uncrowded lifts, and the enormous pleasure of 'on piste' accommodations at Oberlech. I stay at Pension Sabine and ski DOWN to get on the lift! Getting to other areas is a snap ... and affords a variety of terrain. From California, I fly into Zurich, take subway to Hauptbahnhof, then train (2 hrs) to Langan an Arlberg. Have taxi waiting for 15 minute trip to Sabine's. Yes, it is a tad pricey and a lot of the resorts do NOT take credit cards ... or even acknowledge travel agent's fees .... they know they have the best and need not cater to fill the accommodations ... most of which are booked well into the summer of the previous year.
