    Natural snowy-white flake has dissipated but skiers and riders at Wintergreen, Va., are still turning out in hopeful numbers. The area is urging local plankers to come out mid-week as it is a good time to avoid the usual crowds. Full Article

  • Massanutten to Open Dec. 8

    Harrisonburg, Virginia's Massanutten Resort has started making snow in preperation for its 2006/07 winter season. The area plans to open Friday Dec. 8 and will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for skiing and snowboarding. Full Article

  • Bryce Banks on Dec. 9

    Warm temperatures are making skiers squirm but Bryce Resort says Dec. 9 is the day for starters. Bryce, in the mountains of western Virginia, has seen no natural snowfall and is hoping a coming cold spell will make it possible for them to make snow. Full Article

    Snowmaking began at Wintergreen Resort, Virginia, on Monday, Nov. 20 at 7:07 p.m. They're a precise bunch at Wintergreen and minutes matter. When temperatures dropped into the twenties, the resort's world-class snowmaking system went to work laying down a base for opening day. Full Article
