Stratton was great this weekend. The only only con is that (as a New Englander) it's in that area of VT that will attract a great deal of skiiers from NY. Now, don't take this personally, but I'd rather you stayed in the city for the weekend because we get really tired of those Yankees stickers! But the mountain is the biggest think I can drive to in a couple of hours, the snow is reliable, the service is top shelf, and there are real steeps on this mountain. They serve a lot of skiiers on the gondola and the slopeside accomodations are first class. Stratton is rapidly becoming my first choice if I don't have time to drive all the way to Smuggs or Stowe foir a great mountain, and as Killington ... well there's a reason why we call it a beast, and it's got nothing to do with the size of the mountain. Stratton is awesome (Yankees fans and all ... they're just misguided Sox fans, at least while they're skiing on "our" mountain!).
