Full review

Stratton is a big mountain and lots of fun to ski, with enough variety to keep me coming back, and trails that, except for bumps and glades, are well within the ability of good intermediate skiers. Favorite trails: Black Bear, Upper Tamarack and North American. Stratton's summit gondola is rated for 12 passengers -- but that's a tight fit. The good news: Stratton skiers are friendly, so even a full car is OK. One of the first areas to build an alpine village at the base, with lots of shops, restaurants and watering holes.
