Two of my favorite resorts, Whistler out west and Stratton in the east, share one important thing, Intrawest runs them both... and they do it first class. Winter Park, CO, their 3rd property, is on the must visit list. Their snowmaking, grooming and ski schools are 1st class... Their trail system is efficient... their single/double blacks feed common chairs... in other words all good trails lead to Ursa... little or no line when the their gondi has 20min waits... and, it's not just one black feeding the chair, eight do... the bears... grizzly bear, polar bear, bear down... plus tamarack, north american and upper standard among them... and the glades.... why go anywhere else on the mountain? Ok, maybe you prefer the "S's"... switchback, spruce, slalom and Stevek... all feeding... appropriately, 'S'now Bowl.
Unlike their overhyped neighbor, Okemo, their trail count is real, simply split upper and lower... not 3-4times to inflate stats and they report real snowfall... not the the drifts. No false advertising here.
To avoid the main base crowds, go to Sun Bowl (oops... forget that) and chow at the mid-mountail lodge... you won't be disappointed.
