People won't like this but a lot of you seem to give disproportionately high scores to ski areas in New England. I can only assume that you've never skied anywhere else because in all honesty New England is not that brilliant for skiing.

Take Stowe, it's ok but there really isn't much terrain and the elevation is nothing to write home about. It's been a while since I skied there but I bet there is still nowhere decent to eat on the mountain and the nightlife still won't be anymore than a few restaurant and bars. And, it being America, you have to drive everywhere.

Now, I know some people are hugely defensive of their New England ski areas, but ask yourself have you skied anywhere else. I have so I'm entitled to make an impartial judgement. Every ski area in Colorado I've been to is better than Stowe and if you go to Europe it will blow your socks off!
