Stowe is absolutely amazing - the Vail of the East Coast.
The skiing is premier although the last couple days it has rained, been icy, etc. and the conditions aren't great. However, compared to Jersey they are great. The village at Spruce is so nice although it was small, I think Stratton's village was much more nicer. If you are a beginner (which I'm not) they have tons of areas to ski and learn. Also, for an awesome snack on the mountain there is delicious waffles at the WaffleCabin!
It is extremely expensive but its worth it if you are visiting it for a few nights and don't mind spending the extra cash for a beautiful trip. Also, I would like to note that its hard to get from the Gondola to the 4Runner Quad, Mtn. Triple, and Lookout Double and you practically have to walk.
Be sure...be sure -- to visit Nosedive - it is an awesome trail for a freestyle skier - awesome moguls and bumps!
