Towards the Northern half of VT, Mt. Mansfield is a bit further away from points south, but worth every extra minute. The "front four" are a must for any self-respecting East Coaster, and if you can find a local to tag along with, hiking up to "the Chin" will give you some of the best off-piste riding outside of the Rockies. Throw in the new, excellent lodge at Spruce Peak, and you and your group/family will have a truly complete mountain experience.
