What a relative disappointment. I skied Stowe after Sugarbush. There are still some great trails, but I thought the mountain lacked warmth. The staff was rigid and no one even checked my ticket all day. While Stowe had clearly gotten some good snow recently, the mountain was not in the shape of Sugarbush. It was a lot crustier underneath. It was also difficult to envision what the new construction is going to look like when finished. It is massive, and I will give it the benefit of the doubt, but the new public lodges seem at least two years into the future. I did like the people mover from Spruce to Mansfield. No one really seemed to know the details of what was going on. Stowe is a great brand but maybe living on its past reputation! Where is Hank Greenburg?
