Full review

We went to Sugarbush on Christmas Day. It took us an extra hour or so to get on the mountain because we couldn't figure out where to park, etc. Conditions were pretty bad because it had poured the night before and then frozen. The top of the mountain was closed due to high winds. There didn't seem to be any snowmaking effort going on to cover up the ice. Fortunately, we bought our tickets for a discount at our hotel in South Burlington. The redeeming factor of the day was during our first run--a ski instructor who happened to be skiing on the same trail as us gave me a free tip on how to navigate the ice without falling. The technique worked--gave me a huge boost of confidence. I had LOTS of opportunity to use it. I think with better snow conditions we would have had a better time. But I'm not so sure we'll be back to try it unless there's a super deal.
