Stowe still has tons of snow and the mountain is empty. That being said, the cold has made the place pretty boiler plate. If you have sharp skis and a hankering to go fast then today's your day. Not spring skiing.
Was hoping for more than 1" of snow to cover the rock hard base, but honestly, having more than that would have left me totally dejected given that this was the last day of their season. The cold temps however were clearly the weather gods laughing at us; whispering in our ears in 40 mph gusts, saying that they still got it. Next year...
Wow the mountain is shrinking fast. Was here two weeks ago and had a blast. Today, what is open is all a virtual ice fest. What's not ice is slush. Snowshed no longer accessible. Trying to find some slivers of positivity but it's getting difficult.
Much ice and some encroaching grass and slush ponds. Merge areas crowded AF. Still skiable but not ideal. Sun-Mon-Tues could be a little better, with some overnight snow? Precip starting and it's flurries so maybe there's hope.
