I have ben sking at Pico and Killington for years and must honestly say that Pico is the best mountain. Pico is a skiers mountain with an old world feel and guiet slopes (always much less crowed than the beast of the east). If you like tree skiing the glades are some of the best in New England. All the trails lead back to the same base lodge unlike Killington proper where you can easily get separated from friends and family members (very important if you have kids). The Apres ski scene is great with a cozy pub that has a huge central stone fireplace, and live music on the weekends. If you like or need more excitement at the end of the day you are still close to the Killington access road so you can enjoy all the Apres ski benefits of Killington too. Or if you don't like crowds stop at the Long Trial Inn for a bowl of their famous Guiness stew and live Irish music.
