plenty of terrain, helpful ski patrol
took 4 lifts to get to the top, subpar conditions, rude New Yorkers everywhere
Girlfriend and I went down on a Sunday in February, and we were looking forward to skiing here because we heard good things. There was a lot of terrain, which was nice, but the conditions were pretty lousy. Lots of icy patches, and even more patches of rock and grass. Unfortunately, we were skiing one of the more difficult glades on the mountain and didn't realize this until we were in there pretty deep. Our poor skis :( We may have realized it sooner, however, it was our first run, which took us 4 lifts to get to the top of. Some of the people there were pretty rude. Not surprisingly, upon leaving, we noticed that the parking lot was full of New York license plates (no offense, just the New Englander in me). In any event, I would bet that on a day with plenty of snow and no lift lines (if such a day exists in southern Vermont), this would be a fun mountain.
