2hr 15min from New Haven (best case) makes Mt Snow the closest VT resort and in several respects makes a great case for no reason to go north those extra few miles and precious minutes to the bigger Stratton, Okemo and Killington. Sure, being close it can get crowded at the base lodge and main face lift lines but if you can ski their relatively easy black north face, you'll likely find no lines at either triple chair and enough variety between the seven north face groomed, ungroomed and glade runs to easily spend a day skiing as I did MLK weekend. For the boarders, their terrain park is probably about as good as it gets in New England, certainly for it's size and variety. They may not have or spend their $$ on their marketing budget to hype their resort the way the big "O" does, rather, they spend it on snow making and grooming and it shows... they do it better.
