Mad is the weirdest place that you never skied, at least not most Left Coasters. I consider myself a good skier and definitely go for air wherever possible, but some of the drops at this little EC gem are downright scary. How about launching a series of three drops 8-10 feet, onto bulletproof ice, granite & bumps, right under the chair? Sick. Like chutes? Some locals took me to something left of Paradise that steepend to 45degrees, narrowed down to single ski width, then dropped me off over an ice flow leading back into super tight no-you-cant-see-your-line-just-ski-it-and-shut-up trees. This place rocks, and would embarrass the majority of d00dz who call themselves expert skiers. Yeah, it's for families...that tear it up. Plenty of kids around, including little ripsters that aren't even old enough to know how cool this place is...that tear it up. There's even a 90+ year old patroller there...that tears it up, in the woods. Fellow Cali/Utah/Colo skiers that'll launch anything with a warned. Tread lightly when heading into the MRG woods and mind the "Cliff area" signs, if they're even posted. The landings may be more than you bargained for. Ski it if you can!
