Wow, I'm a little blown away by the bad attitude displayed in this last post (and others). What ever happen to skier camaraderie? Real skiers don't live in the cities? Are you a racist too? The "good name" of Vermont skiing? You should stay up in the mountains and not come down-- please.
Killington is huge. It's got variety. The lift tickets are absurdly expensive. They have many lifts, but frequent lines. Don't go the weekend.
In other words there are many things you can say about the place but slamming New Yorkers or urban folks doesn't seem very appropriate.
Besides, any hardcore skier or snowboarder knows that if you want true thrills you need to go out west. You can't find steep and deep pow on an untouched face off piste (is there even such a thing on the East coast with all these trees?!?!) on the East coast. Sure they've got steep moguls, but please. There's barely even a mountain here-- they are HILLS.
I LOVE Vermont. I'm horrified and nauseated by the last poster's provincial and exclusionary attitude.
