When it snows in Jay, it pours. While "Beast of the East" normally refers to Killington, those that have experienced Nor'easters there or the famed 2007 Valentine's Day Massacre will attest to Jay Peak's stake to that claim. With one of the most expansive glade-making systems I've ever seen, along with the only aerial tram on the East Coast, Jay Peak is easily the most derivative ski "resort" in Vermont. I put quotations on resort because these guys focus all the efforts on the riding - you will find little to no apres scene here. Not that you'll need it, after thigh-burning, top to bottom glade runs, all you'll want after a day riding Jay's progressive terrain is your bed at your nearby b&b.
