We skied at Burke last weekend for the first time and had a wonderful time. Our group included two families ranging from snowplowing youngsters to teenage hotshots to intermediate and expert adults, and the variety of terrain kept everyone happy. Though Burke has only four lifts (just one high-speed quad), the lifts are well placed and a "long" line was 5 minutes! On a clear day, the views of the Presidential Range from East Bowl are awesome! Just make sure you get up a good speed on the bottom half so you don't end up walking. The people are very nice and friendly. One of the kids spilled his hot chocolate in the Mid-Burke Lodge, and a staffer brought him another one for free. It's a wonder more people don't ski here: good value, good snow, good terrain, good service, no crowds -- what more do you need?
