Full review

We took our 13-year old son to Bolton Valley for a week in March 2010 for his Spring Break. This was his second time skiing (each time for 1 week), and he was able to ski the intermediate trails all week with no problems after taking lessons the first three (3) days. This was the ideal spot for our trip this year as the lines were nonexistent on Monday-Thursday, and no more than 5-7 minutes on the weekend. The staff was friendly and very helpful, and the ski instruction was OK. I agree with other comments that the lodge/facilities are old and in need of renovation, but we stayed off-site in Williston (about 20 minutes away) for better lodging options and food choices. We did find the on-site food choices reasonable and inexpensive, and there were at least three restaurant choices. This is a popular place for locals with families, and is clearly a less expensive option than Stowe or Sugarbush. I highly recommend for beginner and intermediate skiers looking for a relaxed, low-key, friendly environment.
