The Veneto is an important region for skiing. The star of the area is Cortina d'Ampezzo, an international tourist destination which has launched numerous winter sport champions, like Kristian Ghedina and Eugenio Monti.
The region stretches from Monte Baldo to Lessinia, Asiago and Recoaro Mille to Monte Grappa and Pian del Cansiglio, Alpe del Nevegal to Monte Avena and Alpago; and then in the Dolomites from Agordino with Arabba and Marmolada to Cortina d'Ampezzo, San Vito, Pieve di Cadore, Auronzo Misurina, Comelico Superiore, Sappada and Comprensorio Ski Civetta
The mountains of the Veneto region have something for everyone: more than 600 km of downhill slopes, 1000 km of cross country trails, and 200 ski lifts with incomparable panoramas, quality housing and extensive tourist services. Art, tradition, great local cuisine round out the offerings for a great vacation.
