The valley system shaping the Giudicarie, at the feet of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park, is an ideal area to enjoy winter surrounded by relax and flavours of its gastronomic tradition.
For downhill skiing the landmark is Bolbeno ski resort, next to Tione. Located in a central position, it features a slope and a lift, which lend themselves especially well for beginner classes, races and training sessions. Amenities for kids include Bolbenolandia - the snow park devoted to the youngest - and a school camp. For cross-country skiing the 5 km Raggio di Luna trail of Bondo, in Valle del Chiese, is open day and night - a 2 km stretch of the trail is also lit for night skiing.
Thanks to its particular orographic shape, the area offers routes featuring different levels of difficulty both for ski-mountaineering and snow-shoes hiking. Especially rich in water and with its two large artificial lakes, Valle di Daone is one of the valleys of Trentino province, which boasts plenty of frozen imposing waterfalls. The middle-upper part of the valley include 130 marvellous crystal walls, a good training and a challenge for ice-climbing enthusiasts, and also a venue for spectacular competitions at international level.
