Remember to bring your compass and protractor for best results reading wind speed and sun angle. They really are invaluable. I was getting some weird looks on chair lifts, but I was the one laughing when I was skiing perfect snow all day.

Seriously chad, wear clothes, warm clothes, it's still going to be sub 30 on the mountain, for that matter this post is about mountain conditions, there's snow, lots of it, and snow happens to be cold, shocking right...so everybody stop worrying so much about the damn weather, assume it's cold and go ride. Leave this area for posts about snow and conditions

snow was weird yesterday, mostly heavy spring pow, blue sky was more powdery. avoid slopes that face the sin as they were the worst.

With almost 3k in vertical and as many acres and different facing slopes, you can find the snow you want. We found corn and powder in same day. Just read the wind and follow or avoid the sun. 3.5 deg per 1k feet elevation rise is an average temperature drop. So even if it's 40 in town, it's normally going to be below freezing up top. It was 40+ the whole week before we went with little snow and conditions were great. Have you actually looked at how much snow they have gotten in past 14 days? I left on the 23rd and the base is +20". So just enjoy it. Some of you need to ski the east so you appreciate what you have out west. I will show you what ice and lack of powder is, though this year has been much better than what has become normal around here.

Sunday was the best day of the season hands down. And surprisingly not too crowded. Finally powder! And lots of snow on the trees!! Rendezvous/powder bowl was a perfect run. It was beautiful and fun day. This is what winter should be like.
