Definitely Recommend! Just returned from a long weekend in park city, staying steps from the gondola at the Canyons. Sorry that Anon Jan 21 had such a rough time of it. Uphill walks at the end of each run? Half mile hikes to the slopes? Are we talking about the same place? Granted our hotel was slopeside - but even the cabriolet, which brings skiers up from the parking lot, was at most 100 yards from the lifts (it looked like you would have to walk up a flight of stairs to ski over to the golden eagle lift, but not sure how that translates into a quarter mile hike???) Anyway, we had had zero issues with the gondola and i didn't see any bare spots on the mountain. in fact, the snow was AMAZING!!! Saturday and Sunday were great - powder stashes in the trees, great steeps off 99-90, and great cruisers for the wives off tombstone and peak 5 - and all that is maybe a quarter of the mountain - this place is HUGE (and seems to have half the crowd as PCMR). A few of the lifts never did open on Monday due to the weather - but man, still the most fun day of skiing i've had - EVER. The snow was coming down so hard I could barely see! Because of the conditions, we stayed close to the red pine lodge - basically just doing powder laps off the tombstone and saddleback lifts. I did notice they had the snow guns blowing on one of the trails off saddleback, despite blizzard conditions! Not sure why - do the pipes freeze or somthing if they turn them off? In summary, great mountain for the intermediate and above - and easy access to downtown Park City will keep anyone who needs off slope excitement more than entertained. I will definitely be back!
