I cannot believe anyone would recommend this place. We were there the first week of January 07 and the slopes are largely ungroomed. The morning trail maps lie about which runs are groomed. The trails are difficult to traverse and there are many dead end areas and areas of flat-cross country skiing. In fact while we were there the Toombstone lift broke and we had to wait for a bus from Salt Lake to take us out. We lost a half day of skiing and were given a half day voucher which they would not apply to the week passes we had just purchased. There are not enough restrooms or restaurants at the Canyons. They had ugly orange port-a-lets that on the second day of our vacation they moved to an inaccessible part of the mountain so they could be serviced. They remained there until the next day. The food on the slopes is limited and they ignore little things like marshmallows for the hot cocoa. Also, we stayed at the Sundial which promised ski in and ski out, when neither was possible. They had no room safe so I had to wait in line every morning and evening behind people checking in and out just to use the safety deposit boxes at the service desk. In twenty years of our family skiing this is the worst resort we've every visited.
