Epic Day! Great Conditions! lines weren't too bad.
on another note, my friends and I, all expert skiers, skied over a gigantic steep rock face that was hidden by just a few inches of snow. The thing was huge and on a very steep slope, so there was no way to keep footing... if u skied over it at all, ur edges would give out and u would slide down the rocks as far as gravity would take u. It was extremely dangerous, and we were lucky to escape with only scrapes to knees, arms, and equipment. when we reached the bottom of the run, we watched another large group of people slide down the rockface the same way.
Snowbird and Alta are great mountains, but they are renowned for doing a poor job of marking hazards. This run should have been closed, or at the very least had several poles up marking the thinly covered rock face. One of my most unpleasant experiences in my 30 years of skiing, and I've skied plenty of foreign mountains with their standard of patrolling.

Great snow today! Plenty of untracked powder for much of the day. Unopened areas will be ready for tomorrow - looking forward to it!
