wide, good snow, beautiful, friendly, affordable, well-preserved
no luxury lodging but if you care ab. that you should not come here
Our group has skied PM twice, in Mar. 2009 and Feb.- Mar. 2012, great experiences both times. This mountain has a serene natural beauty. Tucked in the valley, it just pockets the fluffy powder for skiers. The terrain is friendly enough for all levels of skiers, and you have the wide spread aspen trees to play with. The pine trees aren't intimidating either. Cat skiing is particularly fun. The low cost is good for families. PM has the friendliest employees. Their guides know the mountain like the back of their hands. Although not much lodging close to the mountain, it is worth the 45-min. bus ride from the city.
I am concerned though after reading this:
I sincerely hope this mountain stays as a low-key, good SKI area for SKIERS. PLEASE DON'T DEVELOP this mountain to cater spendy partiers or vacationers (they can go to Park City and Snowbird). PLEASE KEEP IT OPEN FOR THE PUBLIC and KEEP THE FRIENDLY, KNOWLEDGEABLE EMPLOYEES.
