My husband and I have skied Utah for the past 7 years after having too many bad snow trips in Colorado. We love it! We've honed in on the Park City area the past 4 years because we love the town and variety of things to do. This year, after skiing Deer Valley mostly and Park City once or twice, we tried the Canyons for the first time. We hated the mountain and will never go again. The trails are not well designed, getting from one lift to another is agonizing, and without fail, you pole on flat or uphill terrain at the end of every run. Doubly frustrating is that you can only access the mountain at the main base lodge, which means a MAJOR jam up at the beginning of the day of everyone getting on the gondola. We waited an hour just to get on the mountain. They also do not groom nearly as well as Deer Valley. Also, there were two snowboarders for every skier. We all know what that's like. The snow is destroyed by lunch, it's noisy with all of the boards scraping down the mountain, and you get run over at least once by some boarder who can't stop. We did LOVE staying at the Dakota Waldorph Astoria, though. We just drove over to Deer Valley the other 3 days of our ski vacation!
