Deer Valley has been ranked the #1 resort in North America by SKI magazine a few years in a row now........and it is truly based on the "ski vacation" experience. DV truly caters to the "family ski vacation". They do an incredible job of catering to their customers to bring them back year after year......the only thing.....with that incredible experience, comes the cost. If you are willing to pay, then no regrets, book DV every year, and you'll have incredible family ski vacations for years to come.
The majority of DV terrain is groomed to perfection and conditions stay consistent throughout the day because of the lack of crowds and snowboarders. If you are looking for some "sidecountry" terrain, it can be found in the Mayflower Bowl/Chutes area, Daly Bowl/Chutes area, Ontario Bowl, and the terrain off Lady Morgan Express. The "sidecountry" terrain is as good as anywhere in Park City.........and the best thing is...... there is not many people there because most of the clientele is staying on the groomers......so there is lots of poachable terrain even a few days after storms.
The majority of DV lifts are high speed quads.........and with the limiting of lift tickets on a daily basis, crowds are really never an issue.....except for maybe the Carpenter Express at certain times of the day. DV is a world class resort in a great ski town.....it is definitely worth checking out......just plan on spending some money.
