A mile up the road from Snowbird in the Wasatch-Cache National forest in Utah, Alta Ski Area features 2,200 acres of some of the most challenging terrain in North America. Averaging 560 inches of The Greatest Snow on Earth®, Alta boasts a vertical drop of 2,020 feet (617 m), over 116 runs, and offers additional terrain access via helicopter and backcountry tours. With 25% beginner and 40% intermediate terrain, Alta accommodates beginners and intermediate skiers with perfectly groomed trails alongside the expert terrain. A short commute from Salt Lake City International airport invites skiers to fly in and ski the slopes on the same day.
