    Powder is pounding Utah and Colorado. Snowbird has received around a foot and a half of snow with more expected this week. "A 16-inch storm like the one that came through Sunday is both important to help continue building a base and provides the fun powder conditions for which Little Cottonwood Canyon is known," said Snowbird President Bob Bonar.   • Aspen's Puckett Flies High

    It was a wild wipeout for Aspen's Casey Puckett at this weekend's King of the Mountain Skiing & Snowboarding World Professional Championships at Taos Ski Valley in New Mexico. Puckett had this spectacular crash in the semi-finals of the competition. Steamboat's Brett Buckles took second for the women, surrounded by an international field. Full Article

I have to include Scot Schmidt straight lining Schmidiots, Rick Sylvester braving Tower One's Sylvester's Slot, Tom Wayes dropping that insane 100-footer in the Tram Bowl Chutes, Shane McConkey's backflip base jump off Lover's Leap and Morgan Lafonte's supersweet acrobatics in Granite Chief during the All-Mountain Extremes.     A unique Aspen art exhibit had everyone hiking high up the mountain for a first-hand peek. The Red Bull Illume Image Quest featured international action and adventure sports photography. Fifty photos from 45 photographers were illuminated on massive black boxes, high up on the edge of Little Nell Run on Aspen Mountain, just above the gondola base. Full Article

    The 11th annual Alaska Ski for Women took place on February 4, 2007, in Anchorage, Alaska, at Kincaid Park. This 2.4 mile Nordic ski event for women of all ages and abilities saw ladies in colorful costumes come together to raise funds for local non-profit organizations that help stop domestic abuse against women and children.
